The Trustees are responsible for looking after the Fund’s assets
The Trustees are responsible for looking after the Fund’s assets. We run the Fund in line with its governing rules and UK pension law.
We’re saying a huge thank you to Catherine Stromdale as our Deferred-member Trustee, and Stuart Hawthorne as one of our Company-appointed Trustees, for their hard work as they stand down. Catherine is standing down after 4 years as a Trustee, and Stuart after 8 years.
Catherine made an excellent contribution during her period as a Deferred-member Trustee. She was an important member of the Trustee Board and the Trustee’s Audit and Risk Committee, helping to drive forward developments in the Board’s approach to risk management and to improve our administration approach.
Stuart made a huge impact during his 8 years as a Company-appointed Trustee. During this time he chaired the Defined Contribution Committee, guiding us skilfully through 2 strategy reviews. He also played a key role in helping us to select our independent DC expert and our member-nominated Trustees.
We are in the process of appointing Stuart’s successor. Once confirmed, we’ll announce our new Trustee on Pension Hub.
We’re delighted to let you know that our Chair, Virginia Holmes, will be staying on for a second term, and so is Ian Lawrence as one of our Company-appointed Trustees. That means both will continue in their roles for the next 4 years.
And congratulations to our new Deferred-member Trustee, Anu Sekhri.
Anu Sekhri Deferred-member Trustee
I worked as an engineer for Unilever between 1989 and 1998, and the job took me across the world, including Brazil and India. Since leaving, I’ve built a career in management consulting, and I’m excited to bring that experience to my Trustee role here. As a long-standing deferred member, I’m delighted to bring my Unilever roots and broad business experience to help the Board serve all our members well.
