What if I’ve worked at Unilever on 2 or more different occasions?

You’ll generally have a pension for each period of time you were working at Unilever and were a member of the Fund. Depending on when that was, you may need to look at more than one section of the site. For example, if you worked at Unilever from 2007-2015, you’ll find the information about your pension for this period in the ‘I used to work at Unilever UK’ section. Use the date you first joined Unilever to help you pick the section (in this case 2007).

If you then rejoined Unilever in 2022 and are saving in the Fund, you’ll need to go to the ‘I’m currently working at Unilever UK’ section to find out about the pension you’re currently saving in. Select ‘I started working at Unilever in the UK after 1 October 2021’ because this is when you rejoined.

You can switch between sections using the ‘Change member type’ link at the top of the page.

What if I started working at Unilever in the UK before 1 October 2021 but am in the Retirement Savings Plan?

This could be the case if you:

  • Were not building up pension in the DB Career Average Plan on 30 September 2021
  • Chose not to join the DB Career Average Plan on 1 October 2021

You will need to select ‘I started working at Unilever in the UK after 1 October 2021’ to find relevant information about the Retirement Savings Plan. For any pension you may have previously built up in the DB Career Average Plan or Final Salary Plan, select ‘I used to work at Unilever UK’.

What if I have been working for Unilever in the UK since before 1 October 2021 but am not currently building up pension in the Fund?

If you are not building up pension in the Fund but are still working at Unilever, you can use this site to

  • Manage any pension you have in the Fund
  • Find out what you get if you opt back in
  • Plan for retirement

To get to the most relevant information, select ‘I’m currently working at Unilever UK’ then the scenario that applies to you below.

If you:

  • Were building up pension in the DB Career Average Plan on 30 September 2021, or
  • Chose to join the DB Career Average Plan on 1 October 2021

choose ‘I started working at Unilever in the UK before 1 October 2021’.

Otherwise, choose ‘I started working at Unilever in the UK after 1 October 2021’. For any pension you may have previously built up in the DB Career Average Plan or Final Salary Plan, select ‘I used to work at Unilever UK’.

What if I’ve worked overseas for Unilever?

You’ll have been told at the time about the pension arrangements available to you. If these did not include membership of the Unilever UK Pension Fund then you need to make your selections based on the dates you were in the UK and a member of the Unilever UK Pension Fund. Any pension you built up overseas and any special rules that apply to you as a result of working overseas are not covered on this site. You’ll need to look at the letters and documents you were given at the time for more details. Please contact us if you need further help.

What’s the DC Investing Plan?

The DC Investing Plan provides an additional pension pot. If you were in the Fund after 1 January 2008, you may have savings in the DC Investing Plan if:

  • You were earning above a certain level
  • You chose to pay extra contributions into the DC Investing Plan
  • You chose to use your Benefits Envelope to pay into the DC Investing Plan
What if I was transferred to Unilever from another company?

You’ll have been told at the time about the pension arrangements made for you. These may have included transferring over your pension from your previous employer and any special rules that now apply to your benefits. Any special rules that apply to you are not covered on this site. Please look at the letters and documents you were given at the time for more details. Contact us if you need further help.

You can use this site to find out general information about the pension you’ve built up since joining Unilever. The date you joined Unilever will be the date you need to use to select your membership type.
