Be Scamsmart: Don’t get caught out by Artificial Intelligence (AI) scams
Published: June 2025
Find out how to protect yourself from scammers
AI can clone people’s voices, make videos that mimic the appearance of real people and produce websites that look like the real thing. With scams getting more hi-tech, it’s more important than ever to protect yourself against them.
How to protect yourself from scammers
Never disclose personal details - and absolutely never transfer any money - to someone that has contacted you out of the blue. Even if it’s someone you think you know.
Be wary of phone calls, texts, emails and letters that you weren’t expecting. If you receive any suspicious communications claiming to be from us, please get in touch with us using our contact details on the back page.
Remember
We will never pressure you into hasty decisions about your pension. Nor will any legitimate organisation.
If you suspect a scam, get in touch with us immediately. If you’re able to, it’s also a good idea to get in touch with Action Fraud directly.
You can do this by calling 0300 123 2040 or heading to actionfraud.police.uk/contact-us to use Action Fraud’s online reporting tool.
